Please suggest a book (or series)?
I'm in my late 20s but have in recent times read the first two Vampire Diaries books after watching and liking the first few episodes of the new CW series by the same autograph. I then went on to read the first Twilight novel, since I hadn't read them (and have actually been really against reading them) despite all the praise. I'm in recent times about to finish it and really like it.
I plan on reading the next two Vampire Diaries books as very well as the rest of the Twilight series, but I'm looking for something else to read before starting those ones. I'm looking for something along the same lines as these ones - it doesn't have to be a vampire book (I'm not really "into" vampires, I a short time ago happened to like these books) but something that's similar in how these be sort-of light/fluffy. (Basically, I want something that's not a hard read.)
I'm a teacher full-time and am taking some college classes on the side so I'm really busy! Hence why I want something lighter right now. I'm also a big Jodi Picoult enthusiast and like Stephen King, Wally Lamb, John Grisham, etc... But really, something perhaps along the lines of the Twilight or Vampire Diaries series would be great right now! Thanks for any suggestions!

When I was a sophmore in college, I read the Jessica Darling series (the first book is call Sloppy Firsts) it's a very light/fluffy series (5 in all), and something that you can just see back and read.
I have read those books and loved them, and I loved these as well:
Vampire Academy Series - Forbidden love, and original characters. Not a typical vampire original.
House of Night Series - Original plot, memorable characters.
The Host
The Morganville Vampire Series
Evernight Academy
The Inheritance Cycle Source(s): Avid Reader
The Bloody Jack Series, by L.A. Meyer. Bloody Jack is really a girl. Orphaned within London at the end of the 1700's, she lives with a street gang, then disguises herself as a boy and is hired onto a British Naval ship.
Great antic, great characters, humor, suspense, great FUN.
Bloody Jack, L.A. Meyer
The Curse of the Blue Tattoo
Under the Jolly Roger
In the Belly of the Bloodhound
Mississippi Jack
the house of night series is pretty honest
but
i really like the author meg cabot
she's got this one series called the referee series
and its about a ghost and a girl and well its thorny to explain but its reeallly good and its a romance and u can look at her website for a excerpt Source(s): megcabot.com
How can you be a teacher and like the Twilight series? They are horrible books. Stephanie Meyer's writing style is apathetic and boring. I would expect maybe a 13 year old to like them, not a TEACHER contained by her late 20's! I'm just hoping your not an english teacher. As for books, try reading the classics. Nabokov, Joyce, Mann, Lawrence, even Shakespeare. You shouldn't dance for easy books because you don't have enough time. Just because your an full-size doesnt mean you can't challenge yourself.
Try Sunshine by Robin McKinley
It isn't really 'light' but it is AMAZING! & about vampires. But not exactly The Twilight/Vampire Diaries kind of vampires. The Darker more classical vampires.
you should really really really read it.
If your looking for a lighter book but equally fitting, i would suggest,
The immortals series by Alyson Noel, there are two books in that series ,that i know of so far, the first one is called Evermore, the second Blue moon, and its not just about vampires :P
Wings by Aprilynne Pike, a cute story, there's just the one book out right now but i think here might be another one coming out.
The Vampire academy series, four books so far and there pretty good.
A Dark Guardian series , there really small books and there's three out so far, Moonlight, Full moon, and Dark of the moon.
The Night World series, near are three books out right now and another coming out soon. When you see the book it looks super big, but there is three stories in respectively book and its an easy read cause there so amazing! It's one of my favorite series along next to Vampire Diaries and Twilight so I think you'll like it :P
I have abundantly of others but there not really light reads, sorry, hope this help :) Source(s): My books :P

I've already read The Twilight Saga,Vampire Academy,Night World, and The House Of Night series...any others you prefer? Salems Lot by Stephen King, its not a romance vampire thing, but its really good Try Vampire Plagues. I forgot the author though sorry! It's a fairly short book, but I love it sooooo much and I've read it tons of times.
