Does it nouns creepy if I write a fresh and contribute the murderer my first entitle?
I started a novel and wrote the killer's name as David Preston. My first name is David. I DO NOT however enjoy the name Preston. Does this sound too creepy.

Dear Div MK,
No, it doesn't--you are trying to find the right 'fit' for your character, and your name pops up when this happen. It happens to me, as well, wen I write a story....though in my grip I try to play with the letters a bit to 'exotify' the name, net it more unusual.
Just keep laying around with it. Most writers do put profusely of themselves into their stories anyway, including their names....
God luck!

No, as long as you don't give him your middle or last pet name it should be fine....I mean David is a VERY common/unoriginal name like Sarah or John.
Actually it doesn't except if now you voice is based in a true life story and that your second identify is Preston then it would be creepy...
it is a bit creepy.
It sounds for a while creepy
It depends. How much is David like you, if at adjectives? Do you share any qualities? And do you think it will disturb you when you read your story and see your name human being used in reference to a killer? Frankly I don't see anything wrong beside it, but I see how it could become a little creepy. But David's a common name anyway, and as long as you aren't in actual fact writing YOURSELF into the novel, I don't see the problem. Even if you were, there's really no harm contained by doing so. It's just fiction.
A little bit...
