Which sounds better as a (game) title?

XenoGenesis (means "alien origin")
or
AstroGenesis (means "star origin" or "origin amongst the stars")

XenoGenesis sounds and looks better. Source(s): I similar to aliens.... and games... :D
I don't actually resembling your use of the word "genesis" because that just reminds me of an obsolete gaming console.
How about combining "xeno" beside "genesis" to make the new word "xenesis", using the -esis, making it mean "the state or condition of individual alien"

xeno- or xen- (before a vowel)
a combining form meaning “alien,” “strange,” “guest,” used in the formation of compound words: xenogamy, xenolith.

-esis or -sis
suffix in Gk. nouns denoting achievement, process, state, condition, from Gk. -sis, which is identical in meaning next to L. -entia, Eng. -ing.

This was actually suggested to me by the title of the book Xenocide by Orson Scott Card, which is of course modeled after "genocide".

Xenogenesis is a 1978 picture by James Cameron, and an unrelated but more recent Octavia Butler trilogy of books. So I thing you'd have trouble using that word, within the grand scheme of things.
Astrogenesis seems to be connected to the notion of Panspermia, a genetic process observed in mouse brains, and an American record company, so I'd steer clear of that one too.

Hope that helps! Source(s): Online Etymology Dictionary, (c) 2001 Douglas Harper
and as you would expect my trusty friend, Google.
xenogenesis defiantly! Source(s): me me me XD
I think XenoGenesis sounds more unique, AstroGenesis is too predictable. It sounds approaching its been done before. If I were buying a hobby at the store, XenoGenesis would pop out to me. I definitely think you should go next to that.
XenoGenesis sounds better. I agree that AstroGenesis sounds rather dated. It depends what the game is more or less, really - the title needs to fit. Astro- could be about anything that comes from outside the solar system, whereas Xeno- implies alien intelligence, or at lowest, alien life.

Hmm. Is it something that comes from the aliens, or the origin of the aliens?
SegaGenesis (means "kick ***" or "amazing game system of old")
Astro anything is cliche and outdated. It was cool in the 1950's.

Xenogenesis is better. Make it a lowercase g, or all lowercase or adjectives uppercase.

Good luck! Game programming is awesome! I used to write Flash games in HS and college.
