Would "The Vampire Diaries" Appeal to an Adult Reader?

Even though I am an "older adult," I enjoy Stephanie Meyer's "Twilight" saga. Recently, I've hear many opinions about another popular teen vampire series call "The Vampire Diaries." But I was wondering if these books would hold an adult reader's interest or if they're too consumed with teen "drama" that might be a turn off. I'd really appreciate some insight from people who have read these books and can administer an honest opinion about them.

Thanks and cheers! :)

Definitely go for it! Those books are cool for anyone to read.
It really depends on the person. I'm sixteen and I think Vampire Diaries is kind of dumb, but consequently again I also don't like Twilight so I'm not the person to ask. But all of my friends that resembling Twilight also like Vampire Diaries, so you probably will too. The TV series is on tonight at 9 on CW-56, you should give it a shot and see if you like it. And, Damon is awesome. In oh so tons ways.
I wasn't crazy about them they be really too "teeny". I think if I had read them when I was 12-14 they would be great but not so much in a minute that I'm 25. If you want a good teen vampire series try the House of Night series by P.C. Cast. If you want an adult series that is supernatural but still pretty effortless to read try the Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs(these are one of my favorite).

I personally dislike the twilight books in that is little teenage drama but at the begging of the first one there is! but as they turn on they get less juvenile drama. Source(s): from reading those dumb books.
here come the thumbs down.
It depends on your interest in books. If you are a really big vampire book lover, then any book like this would be great to read. These books appeal to a wide-ranging audience so I say go for it.
