Help next to a story I'm writing?
What are some good codenames I could use for my characters that are CIA Agents?
Answers:
big verbs and big nasty
Phoenix, kitty, slurpee, 47, ect simply anything it depends on the mission and chracter personality
Like if hes on a ship Jack Sparrow or somethinglike that
Slurpee is undercover at 7/11
Sorry I am sometimes sarcastic.
Tigerstrip and Lazer :)
blackfire, Crown, foxtrot, quicksand, snake tails, Aqua, super foot, big ben, open house, tree hugger, blue eyes
You could give them meaningful or "knowing" name (Slurpee is undercover at a 7-11... :-)
Realistically, I'd expect them to have codenames that have no obvious nouns to what they're doing, in case the enemy intercepts their communications and make some guesses about what the agent is doing. Some organisations have a list of words that are approved for use within codenames, and a policy such as "pick one word from column A, one from column B, and make sure the combination hasn't been used in the ultimate 10 years." You could probably do a reasonable job by picking a random adjective and a hit and miss noun.
Part of the Allies' success in intelligence during the Second World War was down to the Germans picking too-obvious codenames for their operation. The planned invasion of Britain, for example, was Operation Sealion. The lion is a symbol of Britain, and the "sea" part refers to the fact that the Germans would enjoy to invade by sea. If they'd called it something like Operation Red Banana, perchance I'd be typing this message in German now. Or maybe not.
redeagle and bluecrane Source(s): thought of them on the spot. kinda random. oh well
give them name that relate to them
like if someone likes the color green make them agent green
if a guise is funny, make them agent humor
good luck
