While Dr. Seuss, whose material name was Theodor Seuss Geisel, did write amazing, timeless children's books, he did other work as well to include illustrate advertisements, political cartoon writing and film writing. Interestingly, he even worked surrounded by an animation department for the Army during WWII. He is definitely best known for his children's books though!
