Lord of the flies query?
we're doing an activity in school where on earth we decide if Jack murdered Piggy and Simon.
my question is, did Jack know that he was slaughter the beast. from the book, i thought that jack was in a trance and so be everyone else.
since they weren't in their right mind and they don't have any morals, was the massacre of simon murder?
also did jack order roger to throw the rock on piggy?
Answers:
Jack did physically kill Simon. He may have really see it as the beast and thats part of the symbolism. Jack was human being influenced by the "Lord of the Flies" which, as I am sure you know, is the literal meaning of Beezlebub, which is the devil. Simon is the Christ figure in the book. I mull over you could make it go in any way. It depends on how you argue it. I personally don't think Jack know, but after he knew he didn't care. I think the evilness of human disposition and the lord of the flies overcame him and this was part of the symbolism in the book.

Be honest. Who surrounded by B&A uses the searchbar?
I know--kinda the wrong section. When someone asks a Twilight question, Team Edward or Jacob, I've seen too oodles B&A regulars to count say 'Team Searchbar'. But how many of you guys actually follow your own counsel?I know sifting through all of the Twilight and 'How to write a book' and 'Writers block' questions...
