“And presently,” cried Max, “let the manic rumpus _____! ” .. is it 'start' or 'begin'?
In one point in the book 'Where the Wild Things Are' by Maurice Sendak, the character Max says the phrase "Let the unreserved rumpus start!" ... or according to the upcoming movie, anyways. (...which looks FANTASTIC!!) .. I remember it in the book as "begin," not "start." So... which is it?

It sounds weird when they say-so it in the movie and I thought the same thing as you.... but I looked it up, and it IS "tolerate the wild rumpus start" in the book, same as the movie. Source(s): Looking at the book right now.
