Could I switch my closing designation for the cover of my autobiography?

I don't like my last name, but I cannot rightfully change it because I want my legal name to be matching as my son's and he doesn't want to have his name changed which I will not force him to do. (He is 11).

Many writers use pen names and it's not an exceptional practice. However, my only reservation would be that as your book is about supernatural events in your go, readers who may be skeptical, may use the fictitious name to justify your accounts as fictitious
