Alex Rider By Anthony Horowitz is a really good believable fiction book with lots of action and suspense.
Maximum Ride by James Patterson is also a really good fiction book.

the Wicked series by Nancy Holder and another author i can't remeber the describe of sorry
Princess Ben by Catherine Murdock
Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan
the 39 Clues series by Rick Riordan and other authors (this series is for younger readers but is awesome. It is a hunt for 39 clues and two kids, Amy and Dan Cahill, travel the world and learn about empire and places. If you like history I strongly recommend you at least check it out)

Poison Study by Maria V. Snyder
I'm currently reading "The Hour I First Believed" by Wally Lamb which is something like the Columbine shooting and its effect on an observer. It is fictionalized history.
One of my favorite books is by Donna Tartt and is called "The Secret History".
I significantly recommend the Mortal Instruments series - by Cassandra Clare, and also A Great and Terrible Beauty- by Libba Bray. Be warned though, A Great and Terrible Beauty is the first book in a very accurate trilogy, but the ending of the third book (of the entire trilogy ) made me cry. And say wtf. At the same time.
The climax of the Mortal Instruments series just made me smile and laugh and be happy though.
World War Z by Max Brooks
The Eight by Katherine Neville
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
