Would it be appropriate to write a book report on clockwork red?
I'm thinking of doing one on either that, or 1984. Opinions?

Yes! The book is great and Anthony Burgess created a wonderful alternate society complete with a characteristic language. This book is one of the wonders of late 20th century literature.
yea i know several people who have done one on that book
unless your university has some sort of weird restrictions
and it corresponds with the genre you guru wants you to do one on you should go for it
I can't think why not, when I was in dignified school, I often reported on books that had controversial or fully developed themes and got very dutiful grades
Definitely do it. but dont say they viciously rape women.

I think as long as you have a expert point of view on the Book and are writing with knowledge and intelligence consequently you could write a book report on pretty much anything. As long as you are trying to stress a point of view on a subject anything is appropriate.
