"Do ScreenWriters.. Have To Relocate To California Etc. Or.. Can They Opt To Work Anywhere From Home?"?

"I read.. several articles that screenwriters have to be willing to move to California or .. where the work is..but.. I would one and only do this..if I could live anywhere I want and work from home. I would opt to travel back and forth for meetings.. or.. negotiations.. etc." But.. ultimately.. would it be up to me to write my own ticket surrounded by respect to how .. I choose to do this?" I would only want to work with an agent independently.. for movie scripts.. "Not.. On A TV show/series" where I may own to be on set .. working with other writers. I prefer working alone. Thank You For Your Help

The only congregation of screenwriters that I know of are all on absolutewrite.com. You can probably find the information within. Make sure you look for it before starting a new thread.
You can prefer doesn`t matter what you like. If you want to work from home and the person looking for a scriptwriter wants someone to be on set, they won't exploit you. It's a buyer's market - there are hundreds of other people who will joyfully jump through their hoops.
Screenwriters can live wherever they want. Their agents, however, had better be surrounded by the middle of all of the activity or the screenwriter will be unemployed.

NOTES: It's not a "buyer's market" at adjectives; it's a business. Screenwriters are VERY RARELY required to be on set, and - even then a shoot doesn't last all that long. Source(s): I'm a screenwriter.
