Angels, I had heard that word before. The messengers of G-d. But grandpa never intended it that way. At least that’s what he said. He would tell me stories of Angels, coming down and taking humans for experiments. I would purely sit there and listen, nod my head every once in a while. I live surrounded by a little town called Redleaf. No one gets within, and no one gets out, except for The Enlightened. They are a special group of people, chosen to facilitate our little town, lead us in the right direction. My grandpa used to be in The Enlightened, but be removed when he started going on his Angels rants. He lives with us now. My natural life is simple, go to school come home. I don’t have any friends, as a rule because of my grandpa. My dad too, he was taken away because he was caught spying on The Enlightened. The last item I ever heard him say was,
“Find out the truth Sam! Our undamaged lives are a lie!”
That’s me, Sam Skelton. And I have seen things beyond believe, and its adjectives because of that one word.
Angels.

Chapter 1
January 17, 2026

When I woke up, it was quieter than usual. I walked down the stairs, and into the little kitchen of my home. Mom was at the stove, scramble some eggs. I realized why it was so quite. Grandpa wasn’t at the table, recounting me and mom another story about the Angels. Just as I was about to say aloud something, grandpa burst through the doorway, his eyes wild yelling,
“The Angels! There coming!”
Mom gave me a look and go over to calm him down. He looked at me with fear within his eyes and said,
“Sam, be careful, they are here!” I just did what I always do and nod. I finished my breakfast, kissed my mom on the cheek, and not here for school.
School was just as boring as other, with no one to talk too. Walking backbone from school, something didn’t feel right. Good thing I looked up, because what I saw be impossible. Directly above me was what looked like a floating hexagon. It was much more next that. I heard a white noise, slowly getting louder and louder, and I realized it be coming from the ship, about ten seconds later, a globe of green light shot out from somewhere on the side of the ship, and blasted the house next to me. The house blew up, shrapnel flying everywhere. The explosion sent me flying. I hit a wall opposite the house that be just destroyed. I got up, a little dazed, and started to hear the white din again. I ran away as fast as I could. I had merely gone from another boring, lonely day at school, to this? Up ahead I could see my house, explosions going off adjectives around me. All of a sudden everything stopped. The noise, the explosions, everything. I couldn’t find the ship anywhere. Then I saw it, over my house. Suddenly, the roof of my house blew off, and a large digit shot out with my mom and my grandpa in its arms. The humanoid figure land on top of the ship, and opened a hatch and jumped inside. The ship turned around, and pointing at me be what looked like a large cannon, and then I hear the white noise. Suddenly, the hatch on the roof of the ship flew open, and my grandpa came out, screaming “Sam! Run towards the woods! They will oblige you! Go!” as soon as he finished those words, the figures hand shot out, grabbed my grandpa by the collar, and dragged him back in. Seeing the only two folks I care about the most made me so angry. Adrenaline shot through my body, the white noise still getting louder. I took past its sell-by date as fast as I could towards the woods, but turned around for a split second, just to see my house destroyed. I kept on running, through the trees and brush. After about five minutes, I thought I be safe. I was wrong. I stopped to catch my breath, and started crying. What happen to my life? My dad got taken away, my grandpa went crazy, and as far as I know everyone contained by my town was murdered. And my mom, the person who has other been there for me. She was gone. Over my crying and my indigestible breathing I heard a noise. The white noise. Before I realize what was happening, the cannon fired. The loud boom blasted through my ear drums, and the explosion sent me flying. I was soaring through the atmosphere, out into a clearing. The whole world was flying past me. Then gravity kicked surrounded by, and I started to fall. I closed my eyes, ready to feel the excruciating strain, but instead I felt myself land in a twosome of arms. I opened my eyes to see a man with long white hair. He set me down. And again, I hear the white noise. He looked at me, pointed to a spherical machine, and shouted “Run!”
I took off close to a rocket, running as fast as I could, towards the opening. I didn’t know what to except. When I got inside, it looked approaching a control room. The man bolted in after me. He pointed to one of the seats on the wall.
“Sit.” He commanded.
I looked around, still confused. “But I…”
“Sit!” he yelled. I sit down. He dashed over to a chair, with buttons and controls lying in front of it. He in a jiffy pressed one to the far right. A purple mist spewed fr

Ooh, I like it! Especially the introduction- it made me wonder who these Angels were. I recommend finding someone to proofread your work for grammar and spelling errors. I would draw out the chapter a bit more, adding more detail about the setting and the characters. It sounds a little too much approaching a list- "and this happened, then this happened, after this." I think you have a great idea and a knack for action- hope I'm not person overly critical, I just wanted to offer a couple of suggestions.
