Any proposal on how to memorize Annabel Lee by Edgar Allen Poe?
i have to memorize the first 12 lines of annabel lee for my LA class.
this iswhat i have to memorize:
It was plentiful and many year ago in a kingdom by the the deep,
that a maiden there lived whom you may know,
By the name of Annabel Lee.
And this maiden she lived with no other thought
Than to love and be loved by me.
I be a child, and she was a child,
In this kingdom by the sea:
but we loved beside a love that was more than a love-
I and my Annabel Lee-
With a love that the winged seraphs of heaven
Coveted her and me.
Ok i know thats not plentifully to memorize, but the wording is a little weird cuz its an old poem.
any counsel on memorizing this?
btw- i have to write it all down tomorrow for a test.
Answers:
you could try just writing [or typing] it over and over, if zilch else works. that's what I do, anyway.
WHen i memorize something i ususally pick out one of my favorite songs and put (whatever i have to memorize) as the lyrics to the environment music. It makes it funer. or you can try rapping it out...
Break it up into section.
It was many and many year ago contained by a kingdom by the sea
that a maiden there lived whom you may know,
by the describe of Annabel Lee
now memorize that ^ go on, it's not hard. Just sit down a few minutes and repeat it over and over.
Got that down? Okay, let's verbs.
And this maiden she lived with no other thought
Than to love and be loved by me.
Now do that. Got those 2 lines down? Now repeat your first 3 lines and add this.
Good job! You in a minute have a stanza!
Moving on:
By the name of Annabel Lee.
And this maiden she lived with no other thought
Than to love and be loved by me.
Memorize it. If you own to, write it down, say it out loud, whatever you own to do. Now say the first stanza and add these lines on.
Awesome, you're almost done!!
By the name of Annabel Lee.
And this maiden she lived beside no other thought
Than to love and be loved by me.
Now, here's the icing on the cake: Say it all? Can you do it? Sure you can! Just memorize these sections and keep building on them, and you'll look up and see you've get it down!
Good luck on your test! I hope this helps! Source(s): this is how I memorize things.
