[HELP] My Novel Introduction!?!?

I need help. I know what i want to say I of late dont know how to make it interesting. Here's a bit of what i have.

Jane "Melody" Carson was ten years older when the disease began. The disease spread faster than a wildfire could ever, taking innocent lives along the way. It was lethal, inescapable, and incurable. Those who got it died, those who were immune to it suffered watching their own family and friends within agony. Either way people suffered.
Cities like New York and Los Angeles be abondended and turned to wastelands as years past. The whole earth turned to nil but sand.
Jane was the only one to survive out her family and friends. She saw every single individual she knew die. Her aunt, her brother, her sister, and her father. The most memorable death she saw be her mother's.
Answers:
it's an interesting storyline, but a bit crowded for an intro. try starting the intro by describing jane looking at a dead body or something, and having flashbacks of her family's turmoil.

something like; "the legions on the facade of the dead boy were all too adapted to me(or her, whatever your point of view is). i saw my mother's face, ghost-white and skeletal, staring up at me.

when the first reports of the disease be broadcasted on cnn, i couldn't help but notice how tired the reporter seemed to be. her weak-looking frame and shaky voice be trying to tell viewers about the massive evacuations of New York and Los Angeles. Katie, my best friend, used to live in L.A. i go back there not long ago, just to remember her, but it's in recent times sand now. i see too much sand nowadays."

then you can own your character walk away from the dead boy and narrate what she's doing at that moment. try to fit contained by her family's fate a bit later.
Is this a summary or the actual start of the novel itself?

If we're conversation summary I'd suggest spelling off right away what the disease is and focusing on the over-arching plot as much as possible.

If this is the start of the novel itself, slow down and zoom in. We stipulation to see scenes and scenes of Jane getting sick or at least specific histories back we do a massive sweep from her to her friends and neighbors, etc.
