Does anyone know the title or author of this infantile fully fledged book from the 80s?
It was about a girl named Cassie who moved from Boston to another New England town. She make friends with a brother and sister named Ellen and Peter Winfield. The Winfields are considered bad word by people in town, but Cassie hangs out near them anyway. Late in the book, a tragedy occurs as a result of Peter's being drunk and dignified while driving a boat. Anyone know the name of this book or the author?
