3 (i'm a trekkie)
1 (i usually care more about the characters to some extent than the plot itself i.e. edward cullen lol)
1 (it gives all sorts of thoughts on the story)
3 (i wait surrounded by line at the book store hehe)
3 ( i like not knowing :D)
2 (guns fights can be confusing when described...)
1 (i discern close to the protagonist)

hope this helps and hope you write them all so i can read them all :D:D
Action, adventure and mystery all preserve the reader interested if you carry them on throughout the story.
Fantasy offers an escape from the outside world and is sometimes the best diversion from everyday life.
Both characters and plot should drive the story forward - in need strong characters the plot is pretty much useless.
I usually prefer multiple main characters as they can offer fresh perspectives to some extent than the same people all the time.
Endings that are interested for a sequel are the best as they keep the reader thinking after they have read the novel.
Hinted and subtle romance is commonly the best.
Sword fights are more interesting to read - and sexier.
First person if there is one chief character, third if there are multiple main characters.

Just throwing surrounded by my two cents worth :) Source(s): Hey, I read a lot.
1. I prefer insubstantial adventure
2. medieval fantasy
3. plot driven (I have to really love the leading character to keep me involved with a guise driven novel. If not I return it to the library barely read.)
4. multiple main characters
5. contented endings
6. hinted romance
7. sword fights
8. third person

This is the plea why I enjoyed Terry Brooks' style of adventure/fantasy. Suspenseful plots without the sweaty, graphic descriptions of romance. Romance is here but never takes the center stage.
The first one I would pivk the first choice. The second one I would pick the second choice. The third would be charcater driven. The nect one would be crucial characters, The forth one would besad endings, the next would be hinted romance, the next would be gun fight, the next would be first person. I like those becasue they are only intresting. If you made a book containg all of it, I would defintly read it.
