Worthy of publishing.......?

I'm thinking of signing up on worthy of publishing to send my writing to and im wondering if its a good site to do that, or are there any others that are better?
Answers:
Worthy of Publishing is a complete lavish of time and effort.

"Pre-publishing" is what it's called. And it doesn't work.

Posting your book there way that technically you've given away your first printing rights.

That means that no publisher will want it. They're only interested in anyone the first with any book they buy from a writer. WoP totally messes up one's chance to be published!

They say that exceptional writers aren't published because the Publishers (which is grammatically incorrect, you don't need to capitalize that word) don't know what's going to be popular.

However, publishers accept books they know will make them money, and reject books that won't.

It's simple business.

They foot their decision on books sent to them, not to a competing website. They don't have TIME to cruise by WoP!

If they thought "test marketing"--which is what this is-- a book close to a bar of soap would get them only bestsellers, they'd be on it approaching a shot. But it doesn't work so they don't. They read submissions and pick the best.

When a site lies to you on the very first line of their "About" page, and can't get original grammar right, RUN AWAY.

Author Victoria Strauss, who is an active scam-buster and part of a publishing supervisor group, "Writer Beware," wrote about them, mentioning the "catch" :

http://accrispin.blogspot.com/2008/01/vi…

"Take, for instance, Worthy of Publishing, a website that claims to "revolutionize the way writers may attract publishers and gain exposure." (Note that wonderful qualifying word, may.) Writers upload their work for reader to comment on; if ratings are high, "this could attract the interest of publishers through some of our unique relationships." The service is free for writers, but publishers must hand over a 3% royalty to the site if they acquire a manuscript from it. Ludicrously, Worthy of Publishing appears to expect that publishers will be inclined to pay this amount over and above the writer's royalties."

I've NEVER heard of any publisher buying a single title that's been down on WoP. No publisher would enter into that kind of royalty agreement.

And WoP's website doesn't have any sales to show. You'd cogitate if they had any they'd mention it to tempt in more customers.

Instead, they're hooked up to a vanity press, which is probable their main income. They will likely urge you to spend money to get your book into print. Vanity books don't vend either.

You can be plagiarized. Scroll down to see how that can happen.

I have an details on Worthy of Publishing (Miley =]), and i've also had accounts on others (such as Booksie) which I have delete all of which except for Worthy of Publishing.
M M *does* bring in good points. But if you want to put some of your story then I think fell free. Its not apposite to put your whole story up through. If you do end up making an account I believe its a great path to boost confident about your writing. Before I had an account I be quite afraid to show most people my work. But after getting good feedback, it pursued me to write more, and to also show individuals.
Yes, I think you should make an account.
That's if truth be told a good idea. The internet provides a venue for writers to post their work out there where on earth people can blatantly give constructive criticism. The thing is: why stop online? The internet can do so much but if you in actuality consider your work to be published in book form, not only you will be able to see a concrete form of your work but you also get to protect your rights. :)

Publishing companies now have adjectives the resources to publish books with the same productivity and efficacy as that of regular black and white books you see in physical bookstores. Considering the reality that most books are in full color, you should choose a publishing company whose book’s are of the highest quality, slab none.

It's fun that you get to see your book published with the same expertise and professionalism as the regular books that you see within bookstores.

Best of luck! :) Source(s): How to get started with publishing:
