What is the Secret to Writing?
I am a fledgling writer and I originally started out writing fanfiction. It was fun for awhile but I realized it wasn't gong to get me anywhere so I quit fanfiction and devoted myself to making productive stories. It's easy to think of an idea but so easier said than done to write it. When I was writing fanfiction it was so much more vivid and imaginative, but in a minute I have so much trouble writing anything at all. Plus, whenever I see a movie or read a book I really like, I can never stop thinking something like it and it drives me nuts. How can I add this enthusiasm to my original writing? What is the secret to writing and writing beside motivation?

The secret is use nice, expressing words, have an excellent beginning, and a stunning climax. Try to make it as perfect as possible and cut off unnecessary words such as really. :D
Fanfiction is easy because the background is already within place and you don't have to cover it, or make up that part.
Original fiction requires setting, circumstance, character history, + the ongoing plot.
Which is harder.
The secret is READING. All good writers are great reader.
The other secret is writing. This is called the BIC method. (Butt In Chair!)
What you write doesn't matter--the practice matters. It's approaching learning the piano. You don't start composing a symphony until you learn to play easy pieces first!
Just consent to yourself write, the enthusiasm will spark.
"A writer doesn't write because he wants to say something; a writer writes because he has something to read aloud."
-F. Scott Fitzgerald
If you can understand the subtlety inherent in that statement, you are one step closer to being a writer and knowing how to write. The writer first must choose something critical to him/her. If you don't have anything important to write about, later nothing you write will ever be great. What is a concept that is important, that you would stand for even if it intended your death? Be it freedom, individuality, solidarity--whatever issue you feel important plenty to talk about, that is what you enjoy to address. Once you have that idea (or ideas, if you're ambitious), you after structure your story around that idea. The secret of writing (if there is one) is to address what concept(s) you nurture about most through your writing.
Try reading Between the Lines by Jessica Page Morrell. And keep hold of writing.
