I inevitability a really startling plot string for a short story?
I dont want the usual, man chasing girl. Something different, something completely different but terrifying at the same time.
Something i can really sink my teeth into and get a honest story out of.

A girl that goes to an university discovers that she is followed every day every where she goes(university,home,precinct,etc) by a boy about her age(and hes a little strange). At the beginning she think he likes her and his just a freak, and she ignores him. the following continues for 2 light of day and the boy's always 15 feet behind her (except for home, class room).I one moment she ask a friend if she know who that boy is and points out to that boy, but the friend just can't see him. After school she goes surrounded by an alley and wait's for him. She takes him by surprise and punch him in the frontage and starts asking him questions.he doesn't say anything, only when she starts walking away he say "you will see in 5 minutes".she just walks away.
Five minutes after that she is hit by a bus and lays down on her back. Sher can move her head and arms and legs and she fells ok but it's similar to her back is glued to the street.People gather around her and she starts swearing at them to abet her but they just don't react. Then from the crowd appears the boy that goes to her and knells beside her. She ask him again who he is. He only just looks at her and grabs her neck. then a set of black wing appear on the boy's back and he pulls her soul out of her body and fly's with it into the sky and in this time truism ironically " you know, in life only two things exist for always, DEATH and taxes". How about a girl who contracts a flesh eating retro-virus that she pass on to anyone she comes in contact with for the first week, then it finally eat her. But, by then she has passed it on to people surrounded by stores, school, the crowd at the big NBA basketball game she went to, etc. and they own passed it on as well even before she dies.
Her dad travels for a living and her mom works in a immense airport so they are infecting lots of strangers. Her brother goes back to Ohio State after the NBA game and infects everybody there--
By the time she dies, thousands own been infected. By the time the authorities recognize they have a condition crisis, it is already an extinction level event for North America. All the poor countries shut their borders to North Americans, build big fences around it, stop all travel and trade to and from, and everybody surrounded by North America dies.
Crazy ex-girlfriend after another ex she dosn't know has broken up near the guy yet.
What about a little girl who kills her parents. The police don't even suspect her and she get put in a foster home. She manipulates the other kids and makes them do unpromising things they get into trouble for. You could make her evil.
Well if u dont want him to be chasing her, then how bout him giving her a ride =D
Sarah Palin runs for President in 2012 and wins. That's a pretty startling thought.
