abigail williams is a very egocentric vindictive character...she was caught with some of her other girlfriends contained by the woods conjuring spirits and dancing naked. when she was caught she blamed the black slave proverb that she made them do that and then her and her friends dreamed up some HUGE lie saying that the devil comes to them at darkness and tells them who participates in witchcraft. so her and her friends get a whole bunch of people killed by jus maxim names of those they did not like. this was during the salem witch trials within which they hung those accused of being a witch. one of the girls (i forget her name) was pretending to be comatose claiming she was under a spell. but yea it's a really good book..they also enjoy a movie for it to..its really good! hope this helped a little Source(s): i read it contained by 8th grade and saw the movie many times
It's been perform I don't know how many times. I recommend going to the library and seeing if they have a production of it on VHS or DVD that you can borrow and watch. Or if they hold an audiobook version. That might be your best bet.
