Care to read and critique the first chapter of my book?

i just read the plot of the story and it sounds a lot like City of Bones and City of Ashes
you can read those for an inspiration or an concept
the chapter looks great too but it sounds REALLY like the two books with similar words and things like the portal or shadow hunters
so i would examine out cause it may sem like you just copied rotten the books ideas and said they were yours
it have a great theme, but it felt forced, like you be trying to hard to say one thing, but it become another. 8/10. Great theme, poor implementation. i've had alike problems for years.
I love it! You combined the 'alter ego' and the 'normal girl' perfectly. Keep going! (I want to see that subsequent chapter, pronto.)
