Dear Ranger,

Namaste!

How do I "pick" a book?

First, it has to be a necessity (for my research)
2- It have to be of a reasonable price. For instance, there is a book I want to have, but it costs more than $1,000. So, I still do not enjoy it.
3- It has to have an index
4- I look at the author, and the text, and the title. The workbook has to be bearable! The title is really the thing that catches my eyes.

5- I resembling to see pictures in a book. I cannot always have books beside pictures... but if I can, then I prefer a book with pictures.

6- The odor. I have to smell the book. If the ink smells too much, if it is smeary, not well turned-out, or anything, then I do not buy the book, nor would I borrow it from a library.

But if I finally buy the book, then Ranger, I can tell you something: the book is beneath my protection. I take care of it. It becomes cut of me.
My books are pampered. I cover them with transparent plastic wrap. I make sure they are standing straight. Yes, they are cozy on my shelves!

And you, my dear Ranger, how do you pick a book?

first select your subject and then select a book by author.Read a few lines starting and ending...then you get an opinion on that book.
I am too choosy about them....

Before finally buying a book.. i other must have done a research over it :P... actually i know wat kind of novels/books i close to to read so i choose books from those categories.. i am particular about authors.. so usually i read my fav. authors.. or those strongly recommended by my frndz.... thts how i usually read... if i own to buy it ! from libraries i read the back cover synopsis and then try it!

keep :).......... hold reading !!
I go to a bookstore, chose the genre I'm interested in, and randomly picked one with the counting-out expression 'eeny meeny miny moe'.
It turned out to be an awesome book.

I recommend that you purely pick out a random book which you find appealing. It might turn out to be a good book.
Aside from recommendation from friends and the bestsellers list, I'll just browse the shelves. If a title catches my eye, I'll read the rear legs and flip through it if I can. If it seems interesting, I buy it.
go to an nouns where your interested in, then pick a book fitfully with a cool name.
If I liked the podcast or
If I liked an author interview
If I liked the authors other books
If it is importantly recommended by my son or a friend
Best sellers- Check the top 10 index.
Reviews, advise from other people.
Read the prologue, gist.
I always ask any of my friends wt abt the content,i will not ask the story if i feels pious then i will go for it.
Ok I'm going to sound like a freak but I'm going to say this anyways. I enjoy to feel it. I have two bookshelves in my living room and when I want a book to read I scan what I enjoy and one just kind of calls to me. Like I enjoy a strong impulse to read that one. it's the same when I shop for a book. I don't know how else to explain it.
check the reviews, best-sellers,
literary awards like booker prize ...
be sure which type of book u want.
by the name of authors mostly,
but some times by the name of the title.
contained by both cases, unless i complete study of at least 20 pages, i would neither buy nor take for day by day rent.
just step to the book store, tell the attendant your taste and he will help u select the bestsellers....
