Are paperwork that the Hannibal movies are base past its sell-by date of any dutiful?
im 22 and grew up with the movies and was wondering if i should read the books?

Yes, I defiantly deduce you should. Hannibal Rising is a bit crappy so you don't have to or need to read that as he was class of forced to write it and it's a prequel so you don't miss anything. They're great books, really creepy.
Red Dragon and Silence of the Lambs are awfully good. However, avoid Hannibal and Hannibal Rising, as it seemed to me that Thomas Harris was only mailing it in with those two novel to make his publishers happy.
Harris did write one other novel (not involving Hannibal Lector) that be made into a movie in 1977. It is called Black Sunday. I thought both the book and the movie were totally good, and with the focus today on terrorists the story is even more gripping.
yeah the books are far better than the films. i wouldn't bother with hannibal rising though as it's pretty awful, thomas harris be pretty much forced to write it.
Red Dragon is an awesome read. The movie is great but the book is better. Contains so much more detail than you could ever get from the movie. Definitely recommend that one.
