I have an idea that that all depends on what exactly you enjoyed in The Lovely Bones- be it Sebold's writing style? Was it her characters and their development? Was it the touching way in which she deal with a tragedy?
If it was her style, I'd suggest Sebold's other 2 books ('Lucky' and 'The Almost Moon'). If it was the characters, here are more books with similarly described characters than I can list. And if it was the subject of departure and the way in which it was approached, you might relish Jeffrey Eugenides' 'The Virgin Suicides'.
"Lucky" by Alice Sebold.
It's by duplicate author of "Lovely Bones", and the novel is an actual memoir of her rape.
A book kinda like "The Lovely Bones" is "Elsewhere" by Gabrielle Zevin. A movie kinda like "The Lovely Bones" is "What Dreams May Come."
Ha I loved teh Lovely Bones too
Try reading Go Ask Alice by Anonymous. That wasnt bad
Glass, Crank, Burned- Ellen Hopkins. They're not really like The Lovely Bones but I heard they be great
Try Alice Sebold's other books:
Lucky (memoir)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Lucky is a 1999 memoir by Alice Sebold, author of The Lovely Bones. The memoir describes her experiences of being raped and how the experience shaped the rest of her life.
The Almost Moon
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
For years, Helen Knightly has given her go to others: to her mother, to her father, to her husband and now-grown daughters. When she murders her mother, her life changes.
Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson is really good too
Good luck!
