How long will it purloin to write a new-fangled....?
If you have finished a detail outline of every chapter; the plot, characters, direction of scene, narrative voice etc.
How long will it take to write the first draft to the finished product? (before sending it out to an editor/ agent)

Well if you have a detailed outline for all that I'm sure it will run by fast enough if your devoted to it. When I write I know what takes me the longest is I'm other going back and correcting, changing things, just to try and stifle the most of it myself. hope this helps, :P
About 3 weeks ago I finished the writing portion of my first novel. That took me roughly speaking 7 months. Now i'm about to go back an expurgate. This includes adding another chapter, adding two more characters, correcting errors, filling holes within the plot, and making everything more well rounded. This will take me about 3-4 months. So I'll read aloud for me since this is my first novel... one year?
Depends how much you write. People who write every day can get it done in a month, for others it can pinch a year or even more. Most people never finish them.

My 450 page (150 000 word) book took me almost 7 months, writing only, and I still don't know something like editing cos I'm not done. I can't even give you a definite answer for editing, because I write other books and edit at like peas in a pod time.
My book will probably rob mea good year and a half to finish.
Some people it takes them forever to write.
But if you enjoy a draft then it should probably take you about a year
