Know any dutiful Dark Urban Fantasy beside romance?

-Main character has to be a STRONG, kick-butt female.
-Has to enjoy atleast a little romance or hint of something happening contained by later books.
-Main character has a pitch-black past which hurt her or a big secret about her species/herritage/etc.
My favorite series are:
1. Dark Days series by Jocelynn Drake.
2.Kate Daniels by Ilona Andrews
3.Grave Illusions by Lina Gardiner
4. Mercy Thompson series
I hold also read :
Nocturne City, Dark series by Christine Feehan (did not like at all), Night world by LJ Smith (didn't like) and some others.

Try the Thursday Next novel by Jasper Fforde. They are so much fun!
I like reading about kickbutt protagonists, so I should be okay on this one... Ooh, Kate Daniels series, clearly one of the best I've read. ^^

You can try:
1.) The Night Huntress series by Jeaniene Frost- definite kickass protagonist. Some secrets on the past.
2.) Fever series by Karen Marie Moning - have quite some romance. Except that the books are such cliffies.
3.) Study series by Maria V. Snyder
4.) Chicagoland Vampires series- Just want to add it surrounded by because it's quite good too.
5.) The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare- Oh, this is heavy on secret. The protagonist isn't such a kickass, but she gets better later on.
6.) Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead- Third book broke my heart. =[ I wouldn't say it's large on romance at the start, but the later books does focus on the romance side.

OK, that's about the six best I've got. Up to you to read them.
