Is the Amazon Kindle worth the price?
I have been thinking about purchasing the Amazon Kindle for $359. Is it worth the price?
I am 15, and read several books a week. If you enjoy any other questions, I will try to answer them.

what exactly does the kindle do?
I think Kindle is a great idea but have limited applications.
Perhaps if one was going to be in a bio-dome for a couple of years, or on the space station, and couldn't return with the latest releases by one's favorite writers. And if you could get a guarantee all your textbook would be available for your college years at a much reduced price it might be worth it then - but I always wrote and highlighted in my textbook, and I still own some of my favorites.
The technology is great - and I am glad it's available, but the physicality of a book can never be replaced. Holding a book in your hands (I always remove the dust jacket), settling down surrounded by a comfortable chair to get lost in it's page, adding notes to special passages, and keeping the ones you really approaching on a special shelf in your bookcase.
Books to me are interactive art. Irreplaceable. Kindle is cool, but not that cool.
You can figure if it's worth the price by averaging how much you spend on books in a year; how much a year's worth of Kindle books would cost you later find the difference. If the difference is more than the cost of the Kindle then I'd go for it. Also remember you can get some journalists, blogs, and magazines on it too!
I don't read as much as I used to so I'm waiting for the price to drop.
