If I bought the kindle would that be "Going Green"?
Answers:
Nope. I sometimes think people lug "Going Green" a bit too far. We should all try to respect out environment but most bought kindle comes from tree farms that are replanted continuously. Please tell me you're not a partaker of PETA to. Got milk?
LOL, I hold to laugh at everyone confusing the Amazon Kindle for kindling. Although the responses to your question are primarily drivel, I would have to say-so that the Kindle would not be 'going green' as it uses energy which is non-renewable whereas the wood used to make books IS a renewable resource. Granted, the Kindle probably uses so little energy I don't have an idea that it would make a difference either way.
$360 is one expensive handheld device merely to read books and it would definitely NOT be 'Going Economic'.
BTW, we could greatly reduce CO2 emissions if everyone merely stopped breathing. Just a thought.
No.
You cut a tree to get the kindle right..or someone did.
Dang it, you're contributing to global warming.
sigh.
A lesson bookish years ago.."Go to the living to get the dead" In other words, take dead wood sour a living tree and that means you have dry kindling. Not like Hollywood picking up brances past its sell-by date the ground..soaked and impossible to light...
sigh
I digress....obvious sign of needing more coffee.. or hot sauce.
:D
Buying the kindle is not going green it is lining someones pockets.
My Grans saying be "He who cuts his own wood warms himself twice"
Why not when out walking get your own that is inert but on the tree. That way you will be helping the tree and helping the planet.
Saving wood are we... it will still take spirit to power the thing ! Source(s): <<< Loves to read !
no, this is not the fundamental meaning of green, green means less pollution to ai, smaller number using much energy for spoil, plus clean energy
It depends. Source(s): Whether the kindling is from a sustainable source, how simplified is the burner, whether a carbon scrubber is fitted etc. etc..
Depends on how the tree was cut. If cut manually then yes it would be going green, sweetie
no, i guess it wouldn't. but there's zilch like a fire in the wood stove when it's cold outside, and mine has be a Godsend during winter power outages.
stop global warming.......plug the volcano's........seamanab
I assume you're talking about the eBook reader.
I don't think it's environmentally-friendly at adjectives. It's probably made in China, in some factory with poor environmental controls using non-recyclable materials. The resources required to use and keep up the device (cell connection, etc.) are enormous. Buying a dead tree book is better within this case.
