How much pine kindling wood can I undamagingly burn surrounded by my woodstove?

I only burn hardwood logs, but would like to use faster-starting pine kindling to get the fire going. Is at hand any danger of excessive creosote buildup in the chimney by using it?

If you verbs your chimney once a year, which is recommended, I think you could burn nothing but pine, truthfully. For small amounts, don't worry in the region of it. Source(s): used wood stoves to heat for 30+ years
Pine is very heavy surrounded by cresote but it is a good kindling..It sounds as though you have a woodstove and not an actual fireplace..which actually simplifies your interview..A wood stove has the stove pipe qite accessible to clean..You should be able to achieve by with cleaning the pipes about once a month if just using the pine for kindling...Buy a brush explicitly made for chimney sweeping at a local hardware store..enough extension pole to get all the course through the pipe..and simply clean it once monthly.....about an hour job total...As a child Our primary source be a fireplace, and as I grew older I have moved in several homes next to a woodheater the only source of warmth....My father would take within place of kindling sometime a coffee can of ashes from the fire..make sure they are ashes that are not warm at all..and preferably from the time before and add gasoline to it to make a clay resembling muck...You can then disperse the "muck" under some smaller wood.then supply a little larger then light it... You would imagine it would "flash' and ignite real hard like gasoline typically does..but in fact it doesn't..it actually ignite slowly like charcoal lighter does on a bbq grill...I simply set a piece of paper on fire and stick it underneath the wood to the ashes and it ignite without the big "burst" like gas does...Take and make a can of this up..appropriate it outside and try a little "test" fire..then you will be familiar with it...It is great when your kindling get wet or damp later on surrounded by the year..and works as you need an immediate fire...One warning..you do not mix this mixture up contained by excess and try to save some...This will then let gas start to vaporize and could be unpromising...mix only what you need at that time..and use within 5 to 10 minutes...
pine kindling, pine cones, needles, etc., should not be a problem. as you burn hardwood logs, the heat and output take care of most of the buildup. stay away from burning green wood, though. Source(s): the problem: http://www.safete.com/safetyarticles/fir…
