The difference between the sony reader digital book and kindle by amazon?
I just learned that i am getting the Kindle from my husband for christmas.(so excited) Anyway i was looking at the attach for target and came across the digital reader from sony. Does anyone know what the difference is? If so which one is better then? thanks( although i am keeping the Kindle -its from my husband.)

In addition to the advantages mentioned by the other posters, the Kindle have on more major one - the selection available. Amazon currently offers more or less 185,000 titles in Kindle format, and they're adding more all the time. The concluding time I checked, the Sony only had about 20,000 titles available. With that much test available, you can pretty much guarantee always having something to read that you will enjoy. Source(s): I own a Kindle.
The largest difference is that the Kindle uses the "Whispernet" system by Sprint. This means that you do not have to download books via your computer (usb cord) or in the presence of a wifi nouns.
Kindle connects to the Amazon kindle store the same way that a cell phone receives service..freshly mysterically thru the air (haha).
Kindle also has a basic network browser. That means that you can be somewhere where there is no wifi nouns...and still be able to do basic web search (like check your email, etc)
