Yes, the Kindle supports college textbooks. Just search from the Kindle store below next to your textbook titles, and you'll see if there is Kindle version for your textbook. Right now not copious textbooks on the Kindle, but there will be more and more:

I own the Kindle and I've get some textbooks on my Kindle already. They are cheaper than paper version, and it save me quite a lot of money. Right now here are not too many textbooks available for the Kindle, but it is expected to be more and more.
