Trying to download, but no kindle memory?
I just bought a kindle & tried to download my first book, but got a message that I dont have any kindle memory. How can that be? I thought it held 200 items?

Where are you getting your books from? You shouldn't hold any problems from Amazon via Whispernet. Do you have anything on your home page (table of contents) other than the User's Guide? If you continue to enjoy problems, call Amazon's Customer Service. They appear to be very good almost fixing genuine problems, either by talking you through the fix, or replacing on the blink units.
