Answers:
It munificent of depends on how much reading you do, and how much you actually spend on buying books now. If you read a lot, I guarantee you will start spending more on books next to the Kindle. It's very easy to buy them with the Whispernet instant download. The test of books available is much better than with the competing e-readers, and the books are generally cheaper, too. You may initially spend smaller quantity money with a cheaper unit, but you will come away with smaller amount, too. If you're going to get an EBook, the Kindle is the way to go. The screening, price of books, and Whispernet are all what make the Kindle the best reader out there. Source(s): I own a Kindle.

Does the Amazon Kindle competent to hold other e-books from an assortment of websitse?
Nope. The Kindle supports ONLY Kindle-format ebooks sold by Amazon.com, no PDFs or any other format. It's been getting mixed reviews, mostly negative. I'm a hard-core bibliophile and a regular Amazon.com shopper, but I am not not NOT going to be getting a Kindle. It's not worth it.
