There is no device that I know of that is solely designed to allow the user to download movies the way the Kindle is for books. However, there are online services that allow the user to download movies for a few dollars to view on a laptop, so perhaps you could consider buying a Netbook?
If you want a screen as big as the kindle, you need a laptop. Otherwise, in that are plenty of portable movie players, including the itouch, zune, iphone, to just name a few.
