Question nearly the Kindle?
So for my birthday I ordered a Kindle 1. We also ordered this gorgeous red leather case. Well the red leather case came but obviously my Kindle was taking a while. Then they upgraded my order to a Kindle 2! Will this case still fit or should I transport it back asap?
Yes,it will fit. I have Kindle 2 and Kindle 1 and 1 bag for each, which is
two red leather cases. They do fit well.
The Kindle 2 is taller and thinner than the Kindle 1. The case for the 2 has a special hinge system to attach to the Kindle. The case for the 1 usually have corners to hold the Kindle. If yours is like this, it will not hold the Kindle 2. If it is an Oberon that uses velcro to hold the device, you can, of course, put the velcro on the K2, but it will stick out the top and bottom, and the width won't be great. It would be like putting an iPod nano in a case designed for an iPod classic. To protect your brand new Kindle the best way possible, get a case designed specifically for the K2.
As for the poster who said he have both the K1 and K2, the first K2s were just delivered today (Feb. 24) if ordered next to next-day shipping. So I highly doubt he has as much experience as he claims.
