Is the Amazon Kindle slickly readable surrounded by bright sunlight?
thinking of buying a kindle for summer holidays when i get through a lot of books but am awkward as i have heard that the eyeshade is reflective and hard to read in sunlight. Is this true, is nearby one that is less reflective?
yes it is. its simply like reading a book. its very flowing to read in the sunlight.
Yes, Amazon Kindle uses eInk and is easily readable underneath bright sunlight.
I also suggest you to read this review from a top reviewer who is also a book lover, it outlines quite profusely of benefits of the Kindle and also why it is worth especially at the end of the review:

Read surrounded by Sunlight with No Glare
Kindle's screen reflect light like standard paper and uses no backlighting, eliminating the grimace associated with other electronic displays. As a result, Kindle can be read as easily contained by bright sunlight as in your living room.
