Is it possible to download books surrounded by the public domain (at Gutenberg or other sites) on Amazon's Kindle 2?

Does Amazon charge a fee for downloading books in the public domain onto a Kindle?
Answers:
Amazon does not charge a fee, as long as they are surrounded by certain formats such as Plain text (.txt) and Unprotected Mobipocket (.mobi, .prc). The Gutenberg site should not be a problem.

Amazon will convert HTML, DOC, PDF, JPEG, GIF, PNG, and BMP documents to AZW for a fee. Source(s): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kindle
