I am getting my Kindle tomorrow or Thursday, but from what I understand internet will be handled via Whispernet, which is part of your Kindle and uses Sprint's EVDO make friends. So technically your Kindle is already connected and, after you get it and power her up, your books will be downloaded automatically. There is no monthly charge for Whispernet. You can find out if your area is covered here.

Even if you can't get Whispernet, you can still download accounts from Amazon to your computer and, using the USB, transfer it to your Kindle.
