I saw that the Kindle can do rough and ready trellis browsing, can it run to websites resembling fanfiction.network or others?
I read a lot of fan fiction and I was wondering if you can read that on the Kindle. I usually read Fanfiction.web and fictionpress.com at least a couple of hours every day, if the kindle could go here it would be awesome.
also can you read in the dark? or do you need a separate insubstantial?
Answers:
I just loaded my Kindle 2 and I can draw from to fanfiction.net. Also, You can read your kindle in the dark short another light. I love mine!
I bought my kindle 2 and almost all of my ebooks using a free online shopping widget that my wife found! You can check it out at:

I just tried with my Kindle 2 and it can browse both of the websites, and yes I can choose a story to read. It will pinch some more clicks compared to browsing in computer, however. But if you are using Kindle to browse the website then I think you are somewhere not within front of your computer and it should be the best that you can do to browse with such a handy device. I think you can store links to your favorite categories to improve the browsing.
And yes the Mighty Bright XtraFlex2 is a must have when you want to read in dark. I've one and I repeatedly turn it on when the light is dim. You can read the reviews from other customer and you can decide:

The basic web browser for Kindle is meant for set book heavy websites. Any site that uses Flash, Java, or other more high end trellis technologies won't work. It may also seem a tad bit slow, despite the fact most books can download lower than a minute. I must also mention having the wireless on drains the battery power a lot. Leaving it on adjectives the time can knock your battery down to a few days, so often I just turn it on and past its sell-by date as needed.
I just tried fanfiction on my Kindle as it seems to work, though there is a jumble of links on the first page. Navigation may be an issue, but I got to a story (at random) without too much trouble.
The Kindle display is meant to emulate reading a book as much as possible. For that motivation, it doesn't have a display which one can see in the dark. You will have need of a separate light, like a bed side table lamp or, if you close to, an accessory like this:

FYI, I don't have that, so I can't notify you how it is like.
