Can you use Kindle 2 within Japan?
I live in USA right now but I was wondering if I could also use it contained by Japan if I go back.
Answers:
Just that you can't access the wireless meet people everywhere like in the United States. You can get Kindle books on Amazon from your PC and copy them to the Kindle through USB cable. Indeed, you can convert tons file formats like PDF or Word to Kindle format for free and copy them to the Kindle too, even the Kindle doesn't have wireless introduce yourself access.
Here is an extract from the Kindle page on how this works:

Personal Documents
Kindle makes it easy to take your personal documents next to you, eliminating the need to print. Each Kindle has a unusual and customizable e-mail address. You can set your unique email address on your Manage Your Kindle page. This allows you and your approved contacts to e-mail Word, PDF documents, and pictures wirelessly to your Kindle for a small per document fee--currently only 10c per document. Kindle supports wireless delivery of unprotected Microsoft Word, PDF, HTML, TXT, JPEG, GIF, PNG, BMP, PRC and MOBI files.
You can email your PDFs wirelessly to your Kindle. Due to PDF's fixed layout format, some complex PDF files may not format correctly on your Kindle.
If you are not contained by a wireless area or would like to avoid the fee, you can distribute attachments to "name"(a)free.kindle.com to be converted and e-mailed to your computer at the e-mail address associated with your Amazon.com account login. You can then verbs the document to your Kindle using your USB connection. For example, if your Kindle email address is Jay(a)Kindle.com, send your attachments to Jay(a)free.kindle.com.
The only piece that won't work is your Whispernet, the wireless service that exists only in the USA. However, you can still go to Amazon and progress to Manage My Kindle to download your books to a computer and then connect your Kindle to the computer via USB.
Of course, if you are going to stay in Japan, you will need to buy Amazon's books using US dollars!
The only cutting is that wireless network is only available in the United States. So you won't be capable of download Kindle books anywhere, but you can still use your computer to buy and get Kindle books and copy to the Kindle.
If you are deciding whether to buy one, I'll say the best place to progress is the actual customer review on Amazon. It is opinions from actual users, and people vote for those most helpful reviews. Just read one or two and you should be capable of make up your decision.
