Amazon Kindle or regular college textbook?

I'm looking at the prices of my semester's textbooks online. With close to 300 dollars of books would it make sense to get a kindle and reclaim the extra money?? Has anyone done this already. Also if a Kindle is not a good option what are some good sites to find some fully clad prices of college textbooks?? Thanks everyone! I'll award a best answer.

I got adjectives my textbooks from http://www.thecollegebookbag.com they had cheapest prices I could find and I found out I did not need one book, they give me a full refund. Source(s): http://www.thecollegebookbag.com
I don't know that the kindle will prove to be a viable option for college students. I think the tangibility of actual textbook has it's own value. Being able to write and lay emphasis on in the book, being able to skip around the book at the double and skip to the index if necessary are all things that you lose with the kindle. And I know that textbooks can be expensive, and cumbersome to lug around, but there are ways around both of those. To combat the prices I always use the textbook turn out engine http://www.bigwords.com And if you don't want to lug all your books around all day, acquire there early and find a good parking spot and one and only carry the book you need for the next class. And an extra thing that textbooks are the kindle isn't - durable! I can imagine seriously of kindles getting broken if they are treated the way a normal textbook get treated.
I think it depends on how you'll use the Kindle. If you plan one and only to use it with textbooks, then you should look into the Kindle store first and trade name sure there are enough textbooks available right immediately. There may be more and more textbooks available, but it may not help if you need your textbook in the coming semester and they are not yet available when you need them. Of course, if you call for to buy different textbooks in the coming two or three years, it will still help like mad.

However, I think there are many benefits for the Kindle DX, excluding holding textbooks. I suggest you to take a look at these reviews and you'll know how to get the best out of the device:

Amazon is an excellent site for both used and new college textbooks. They often proffer very good price and discounts. You can look for your textbooks here, any used or new, to check it out:

However, I do think the Kindle is a great device and if you like to read you can categorically buy the Kindle and use it for textbooks and some other books. If you plan to use it solely for textbook, it may not worth at this moment (but may worth a few months later, when more and more textbooks can be found surrounded by the Kindle store).

Hope this helps you making up the decision.
I've mentioned quite a lot roughly college textbooks on the Kindle here:

I love my Kindle very much. If you are thinking of buying a Kindle, I'll say acquire it and you won't regret. Since Amazon provide books for the Kindle cheaper than actual books, it has saved me quite seriously of money. Right now I've read over 10 books with the Kindle, and I really like the conception that I can bring and store all the books with the handy device. Besides, it uses the e-ink technology, so even I read next to the device for long hours, I don't feel tired. My only complaint is the white case, right immediately all the Kindles are in white color... I think it will be cool if I can own a black or deep blue color Kindle ;)

I'll suggest you to read this review from a top reviewer, it outlines quite a lot of benefits of the Kindle and also why it is worth especially at the run out of the review:

Hope this helps.

I'm a college student and I've the Kindle too. Right now only some textbooks are available for the Kindle, but not adjectives. I've got several textbooks on my Kindle, yes they are cheaper than paper edition and it also saves me some heavy weights. Just expect that not all textbook are available and you better search with textbook titles in the Kindle store to see if they are in that:

However to me, the most valuable thing about the Kindle is not textbook, but ability to get all my favorite books into it and I can bring it everywhere. I can craft notes and reference dictionary all beside the handy device, and can even have it read books to me. I remember I read this review when I decided to get my Kindle:

Hope it help :)
