Has anyone out here used Kindle? How do you approaching it? Can Kindle play the integral book to you via audio?

I love the Kindle. Best thing I've ever bought. It makes reading so much easier, and I can read late into the dark, only using one hands. It's fantastic.
The Kindle can play an entire book via audio, UNLESS it's been disabled by the author. Unfortunately, the reader speaks surrounded by a monotone, but I got used to it.
I don't have a Kindle, but several of my friends have and they adjectives like it. I'm saving my money, and I plan to get it once I save enough money.
