Are here any alternative products similar to the Kindle 2 by Amazon?
If so, where do you go to buy the "books" for these products? Are they better than the Kindle 2?

The Kindle is the most convenient for buying books. There are other alternatives close to sony reader but many users complaint that the choice of "books" they can find is much less than Kindle books provided by Amazon. There are many people complaining about the small eyeshade size, discomfort for long reading, no wireless access and no access of Kindle store for instant download of books and newspapers when reading on iPhone. If you only use the device for reading occasionally then it should be fine. But if you'll use it for reading commonly then the Kindle 2 is still the best option.
