Answers:
There aren't plans as such, rather you set up an account with Amazon and freshly buy the books as you want them. You can set up subscriptions for periodicals though.
There isn't any plan. You just buy the Kindle, then buy whatever books you want. If you don't want to spend further after buying the Kindle, you can in recent times get some free books to read. Here are thousands of free books provided by Amazon:

I own the Kindle 2 and I like it very much. Basically, Amazon produces this device, and it make a lot of books become available in electronic version. There are over 350,000 Kindle books that we can buy and read on the Kindle right presently, and the number of books available is keep on increasing (I remember there are only 270,000 Kindle books when I bought my Kindle a few months ago).

I approaching my Kindle because I can buy books at a cheaper rate compared to actual books, and I can replace all heavy books with this handy device. I can bring it somewhere I want to, so I can utilize my time whenever I've some free time (like I'm waiting for friends, shuttle bus, or whatever).

I like to read and at the beginning I missed a bit on the feeling of reading books. But presently I love to hold the Kindle, the e-ink work very well, it is really like reading books... Now I commonly read with the Kindle for several hours but I don't feel tired... And now I prefer to hold on to and organize all my books on my Kindle rather than organize all the physical books, it is really much more convenient.

I remember I read these reviews when I decided to get my Kindle. Guess they will aid you making up the decision:

Finally, Amazon has announced a price slash on the Kindle 2, and it is now selling $60 cheaper than the price I get my Kindle... So it is a good chance now if you want to obtain it.

Hope it helps :) Source(s): http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00154J… (Kindle 2 after price slash)

If you are thinking of buying a Kindle, I'll say carry it and you won't regret. Since Amazon provide books for the Kindle cheaper than actual books, it has saved me quite abundantly of money. Right now I've read over 10 books with the Kindle, and I really like the hypothesis that I can bring and store all the books with the handy device. Besides, it uses the e-ink technology, so even I read beside the device for long hours, I don't feel tired. My only complaint is the white case, right in a minute all the Kindles are in white color... I think it will be cool if I can hold a black or deep blue color Kindle ;)

I'll suggest you to read this written by a top reviewer too, it outlines quite a lot of benefits of the Kindle:
