Will ebook reader close to the Amazon Kindle ever be allowed contained by school?
I want to make the jump to get the Kindle, although i am a huge bookworm and other read when i am finished my work at school. I know won't be able to bring it to school because it's disqualified under the terms that it's an "electronic device".
Does anybody think that ebook reader will ever be allowed in schools? it's frustrating because my school system is hypocritical surrounded by the fact that they talk about "going green" and "reducing our carbon footprint" and they won't even allow students to bring contained by a "green" device that helps to "reduce our carbon footprint"

I bring my Kindle to arts school without problem. I've a few textbooks on my Kindle so I just transport it out to use during class.
But what I enjoy the most is not using it during class. It is that I can get all favorite books surrounded by the single device, and can read with it when I'm on shuttle bus, when I'm waiting for friends, or any time I like. Kindle books are cheaper (there are lots of free books too), so it has save me lots of money on buying books.

Finally, you are lucky that Amazon recently announced a price slash on the Kindle 2. It is now selling $60 cheaper than the price I got my Kindle... So clutch the chance.

I'm sure they will, at some time. Schools just steal a while to "get with the program".
When I was at arts school we weren't allowed to bring calculators to class. (Not that I could have afforded one... when I was a kid a basic four-function calculator would cost hundreds of dollars, and be the size of a colossal book anyway.) When my kids went to school they were required to own scientific calculators. The high school they go to today requires students to have emaail accounts and submit homework electronically. Technology marches on.

I judge it all depends on the practice of schools. I've a younger cousin and she just brings her Kindle to arts school every day.
But even you cannot bring it to school, you can just use it for reading at home. Actually I mull over most of the time you are in class at school, but at home you have more time for reading.
