I'm a college student too. I've got some textbooks on my Kindle, but please be prepared that merely some of them will be available. It is still convenient though, as I can benefit from buying less heavy textbooks.

I'm a Kindle 2 owner and a college student too. To answer your question, only some textbook are available on the Kindle. I've only a few textbooks on my Kindle, I'm pretty happy beside it already though...
