Which Digital Reading Device is Better? Amazon Kindle 2 or the Sonys Digital Reader?
Answers:
I'm a Kindle 2 owner, and I'll recommend you to go for the Kindle 2 for sure. One advantage is that it have free wireless 3G internet access, so you can go to text-based websites like Google or Wikipedia, etc. whenever I like. It also allows me to buy or take books anywhere with the Kindle. Another thing is that the Kindle has the text-to-speech function, which funds I can "read" books with my ears, just like listen to music with the ipod... It really helps me to utilize my time, as I can listen to books when I'm on the step machine, doing some housework, etc.
One most significant advantage of the Kindle is that Amazon is a much better content provider, and Amazon provides books in Kindle format cheaper than the actual books. It is said that if you buy 70 Kindle books, the money saved on buying books can cover the price of the device already. So it is more beneficial within long term, especially you're an avid reader. I know some sony reader owners complaint that it is sometimes quite difficult to find books with the sony reader... Read this review from a disciple of sony reader:

You will see from the comparison, that they are both good surrounded by different ways.
It really depends on what you are looking for.
One big difference is Kindle offers wireless download and over 300,000 of its own books...plus the device speaks to you.
Sony digital reader offers touch screen, newly over 160,000 of its own books, LED lighting, and virtual keyboard.
So you really have to look at the individual features and make the appointment.
Hope the comparison helps.
The sony reader is a bit cheaper than the Kindle 2. However, I'll still suggest the Kindle2, unless you are outside the US (as Amazon doesn't allow order of the Kindle outside the United States) The biggest issue is the content availability. The Kindle is supported by Amazon with much more book selections. And Kindle books are cheaper than the actual books, so it will amass you money in long term. In addition, Amazon provides thousands of Kindle books for free or at a low price. Sony reader is much weaker surrounded by this area.
There is a good comparison here about the two digital book reader:
