Questions roughly speaking the Kindle 2?

1. Someone reviewed the Kindle 2 and said that it doesn't have the "Jump-ahead" and "Jump-back" feature. I always thought you be able to type in a page number and jump right to it, also I thought you could set bookmarks? How do you rear pages on the Kindle 2?

2. How do you recharge a battery for the Kindle 2 once it gets low/dies?

3. Can i download journalists and magazines individually (instead of a subscription)?

I am trying to decide if I want one. Also, I have never owned a Kindle, not even a Kindle 1.
Answers:
I'm a Kindle 2 owner so let me try to answer your question:

1. Yes, it doesn't have jump ahead or back part, which is a very good function in Kindle 1. However, I found some workaround so I own had very little problem navigating through books. I customarily use the search function, say when I look into the table of content I'll just query with the chapter number or chapter title and I can find that chapter easily. When I want to come back latter to an exact position within a chapter, I'll just drop down a few words and I can find the position back subsequent time. Yes, you can use the bookmark function too.

2. It comes with a power adapter, so you can charge it either through wall power or through USB connected to computers.

3. Yes, you can. For example, when you go to the rag below, you can see there is a button on the right hand side, which says "Buy Current Issue $0.75":

If you are thinking of buying one, I'll utter get it and you won't regret. I love my Kindle 2 very much. You know, since Amazon provides books for the Kindle cheaper than actual books, it has save me quite a lot of money. Right now I've read over 10 books beside the Kindle, and I really like the idea that I can bring and store all accounts with the handy device. Besides, it uses the e-ink technology, so even I read with the device for long hours, I don't feel tired. My singular complaint is the white case, right now all the Kindles are within white color... I think it will be cool if I can have a black or deep blue color Kindle ;)

I recommend you to read this review too. It outlines reasonably a lot of benefits of the Kindle 2:

1. What I adjectives hear about is that the Kindle 2 has big improvement on navigation over the Kindle 1. I suggest you to read this review, which mention roughly speaking jumping between pages. It is also the best review I've ever read:

2. Just use the power adapter to charge it up

3. Yes, you can.
1. Yes you can set bookmarks. Page number does not work on the Kindle, as it will correct when you change the font size. So it uses "location" instead. I also found using the search function is the best way to locate where on earth I want to go. I don't know much about Jump-ahead or Jump-back, but I do not have any problem on navigation...

2. As you can see on the Kindle 2 sale page:

Kindle supports wall charging via the included Kindle power adapter, and charging from your computer via the included USB 2.0 cable. Kindle fully charges in approximately 4 hours.

3. Yes, sure. You can read this review from a first time Kindle owner too, he mentions something related to newspapers and magazines.

I owned the Kindle 2, so tolerate me give you more of my opinions. I've to say I love it! I deduce I've read over 20 books with my Kindle, no glitches so far!

I love my Kindle because it has helped me increase a lot on my efficiency and utilize my time. Before I owned the Kindle, waiting time like when I'm waiting for friends or waiting for shuttle bus or some point like that is simply wasted. Now I lately need to bring the Kindle along with me. Another thing I approaching the most is the text-to-speech function, which means I can "read" books without even holding or looking at the Kindle. Now I like to use this function when I've myself busy on some boring things, say aloud when I'm on the step machine or doing some housework...

I like reading and at the beginning I missed a bit on the opinion of reading books. But now I love to hold the Kindle, the e-ink seems to work very all right, it is really like reading books... Now I often read with the Kindle for several hours but I don't discern tired...

For books, books for the Kindle are cheaper than that of actual books. Amazon also provides quite a lot of free or very cheap books:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?i… (over 7,000 free Kindle books)

http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?i… (over 30,000 Kindle books which are lower than $1)

Hope this helps your decision. Source(s): http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00154J… (Kindle 2 sales page)
