What are amazon's Kindle? & aren't near similar ones?
i know they are little apparatus's that stores books so you can read them. But i wanted to know what exactly what they're called like electronic book? lol idk, & i guess Sony sells them as well. IDK but i saw it today & it wasnt amazons.

The Kindle is an eBook reader. There are many reader available but only Kindle allows you to download from Amazon directly to the device as opposed to downloading to your computer and syncing.

I'm a Kindle 2 owner. To choose between the Kindle and Sony Reader, I'll say if you're in the United States you should definitely progress for the Kindle (right now Amazon doesn't sell Kindle to people outside the U.S.). There is a comparison of it beside the Sony Reader here:

Amazon's brand is Kindle, yes. They allow you to read books through a touch-pad like something from Star Trek (they call them padd's). The Kindle itself can be very pricey (200 US dollars).
Any other company that made them would call them something different, because Kindle is registered to Amazon.
